Day 10 • Exploring Madrid

The last day of our journey in Spain was another great experience. Before we left the hotel, we said our goodbyes to our wonderful guide Alfonso. We were up early and had to rush to catch a flight to Madrid, so we quickly gulped down some ham sandwiches on the bus. After a short flight (if only the Madrid to Dallas flight would be that quick 🙄) we began our tour of Madrid. We lucked out again with another very nice tour guide who showed us around the city including the extravagant and historic bull fighting stadium as well as the breathtaking royal palace. In Madrid we savored our last Spanish meals for the trip. We ended this day watching a beautiful sunset over the rooftops of Madrid on top of our hotel, a great way to conclude our stay in Spain. Many of us are probably feeling a bit blue that this amazing experience has concluded, but we each have made lifelong memories and friends.
