In the rush and chaos of the Season, find a slower rhythm and pause for contemplation and conversation. Rev. Jan Richardson is an artist, writer, and ordained minister in the United Methodist Church and serves as the director of The Wellspring Studio in Florida. This A four-week online retreat will provide a distinctive opportunity to journey through Advent and Christmas. This virtual experience is not focused on adding one more thing to your holiday schedule but is an intentional space for reflection that invites “you deep into a season that shimmers with mystery and possibility.”
Here’s what to expect:
You will receive three emails each week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday) from Jan. Each email includes written reflections, questions, and blessings by written Jan, along with artwork that visually illustrates the week. Music from Garrison Doles will weave through the retreat, original songs and reflective instrumental pieces that move us beyond words.
An optional online forum via ZOOM will be available on Tuesdays (Nov 29 – Dec 20) for you to participate in as much or as little as you’d like. The forum is a space where you can offer responses and connect with others around the world who share this advent journey. For participants at St. Andrew, Rev. Amy will host a facilitated conversation about the week’s post and themes.
