Music Groups

Join us in making a joyful noise!

Adult Choir: Also called the Charles Wesley Choir, the adult choir is for adults of all ages and backgrounds. We rehearse from August-May and meet Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 pm.  We perform multiple Sundays during the month at the 9 am service, and occasionally the 10:30 am service.  Auditions are not required.   

St. Andrew Sisters: St. Andrew’s alto and soprano choir.  Auditions are required and we rehearse Wednesdays from 6-7 pm.  

Men of Note: St. Andrew’s bass and tenor choir.  Auditions are required and we rehearse Wednesdays from 6-7 pm.  

Orchestra: The St. Andrew Orchestra rehearses September- May one Sunday a month and plays one Sunday a month at both worship services. It is open to musicians of all ages and instruments who have played for 2 years or longer. Auditions are not required.   

Youth Choir: Also called The Holy Pretzels, the youth choir is open to ages 6th-12th grade. We rehearse August-June on Sundays from 11:30 am-1:30 pm and perform twice a month on average for the 10:30 am service.  

Kids Choir: This group is open to all children ages 5 years – 5th grade! We rehearse September-May between services from 10-10:35 am. and perform one Sunday a month at the beginning of both services! 

Adult Church Bell Choir: A flexible commitment. Adult ringers of all abilities are welcome. We rehearse August-May on Monday nights from 7 – 8:30 pm, and perform in church once a month, usually at only 9 am service.   

Adult Community Bell Choir: Adult ringers of all abilities are welcome.   We rehearse from October – May from 9:45-11 am on Monday mornings. This choir performs in the community for 2 weeks in December and 2 weeks in April/May. 

Crowded Table: Our goal is to create musical experiences that shatter boundaries of genre, celebrate connection, challenge, inspire, motivate, and most importantly, invite everyone to participate. Open to all musicians (singers and instrumentalists), regardless of age and skill level. We meet mostly on Thursday evenings and perform primarily at the 10:30 worship service.  

Special Events Choir: Also called the Festival Choir, this community choir creates music with our Adult Choir for Special Events like the Christmas Concert, and special programs.   We rehearse once a month on Wednesdays during the adult choir rehearsal and some Saturday mornings. Usually, we perform with a professional orchestra. All adult singers are welcome!

Music Camp

July 17-21 • 9am-12pm • Children age 5-6th Grade

Kids in MusicCamp will spend one week learning a complete 35 minute musical and performing in a non-intimidating, welcoming, fun environment where everyone succeeds.

Join us for musical fun, games, snacks and crafts!  In addition to learning music and drama, children will play games, eat healthy and delicious snacks, and make crafts related to the musical.

Come along on this Biblically-inspired, Won’t-Bend-Won’t-Bow-Won’t-Burn Babylonian epic, recounting the adventures of Daniel (“Danny,” as we call him in our 21st-century version of the story) and his bandmates, The Shacks (better known to you Bible scholars out there as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego!). In our re-telling of the story, three young Hebrew men named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in conjunction with the prophet Daniel (of lion’s den fame), have a band called DANNY & THE SHACKS. They embark on a roller-coaster-thrill-ride of experiences as they encounter King Neb, his golden statue, some crazy Babylonians, the fiery furnace, and of course, the infamous lion’s den.

$50 per child or $90 per family

Performance

The performance is Friday, July 21st at 12pm and a few songs in church the morning of Sunday, July 23.

All registered children participate in the musical with the whole group. Children entering 2nd through 6th grades can audition for individual speaking parts in addition to participating with the whole group. All kids are provided with a t-shirt to wear for performances, and any additional costumes that may be necessary.

Godspell Performances

Join in celebrating St. Andrew Youth in their performance of this years’ Youth Musical: Godspell!

You’re invited to come and enjoy the St. Andrew Youth’s production of Godspell, at performances on June 9th at 7pm, June 10th at 2pm and 7pm, and June 11th at 2pm. 

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden); and it took the world by storm. 

A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques, and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage. 

Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.  Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “All for the Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side.”

Sing at Carnegie Hall Meeting

Informational meeting and dinner to talk about the world premiere of Heather Sorenson’s Requiem. The world premiere will be held on Thanksgiving week of 2023 at Carnegie Hall in New York. The choir will rehearse with other singers a few days before it is performed , The Colorado Premiere will be at St. Andrew a few weeks prior.

This dinner/meeting will present all of the details for the trip including lodging, costs and other important information. There will be a time for questions.

The meal will be a professionally catered potato bar with all of the fixings.

Art Song Colorado

Saturday, March 11 • 7pm

This recital will feature works from several female composers whose work is less often performed than some of their male counterparts. The goal of the program is to highlight the female experience in early America, specifically that of the women who lived and died in the infamous Wild West. The program will highlight the lives of two of the West’s most notorious outlaws, Belle Starr and Calamity Jane. Their stories unfold through the music of female American composers who seek to set the words and music of these women in art songs, Cherise Leiter and Libby Larson.
