Season of Lent: The Desert of Compassion | Starts March 1

Jesus experienced forty days of testing and transformation in the rugged Judean desert. Whether disease, social injustice, personal loss, or other challenges have led you to the spiritual desert, it may seem doubtful that any good can come from hardship. Yet it was the arid wilderness of physical deprivation and soul-deep testing that prepared Jesus to live a life of devotion, courage, and merciful service to others. The Desert of Compassion provides daily Lenten sustenance inspired by sacred Scripture, present-day teachings, and personal experience.  Join us via ZOOM or In-Person as we explore this Lenten journey together.

Find the book and digital resources. Register here.

Queering the Bible | July 16 & 23

Sundays | July 16 & 23 | 11:45am-1:30pm

The Bible is a central part of the faith experience for many Christians. The Bible has also been used a harmful tool to reinforce harmful practices that exclude and condemn historically marginalized populations including women, people of color, and LQBTQ+ community. Come and learn more about “clobber” passages and how proof texting furthers the harm.  During our time we will engage the whole of scripture in the context of the religious, political, and historical context of the when texts were written and how they have been understood by other Christians throughout the ages and around the world; and examine even (especially!) how it speaks to our current context.

Spring at St. Andrew

Spring to life at St. Andrew

As we emerge from a long, cold winter, we can feel our spirits awaken to new life as the days grow longer, dormant plants begin to bud and sprout, creation stirs and sings around us, and we make room in our calendars for springtime activities.   For many, spring is a season for deep cleaning and pruning what no longer brings us joy or life.

This spring, take some time to reflect on what may be dormant in your heart.  What areas of your life long for the breath of new life?  What seeds of hope and love could you plant or spread this season in the places where you live, work, and play?

We invite you to spring to life with St. Andrew.  Throughout this season, we offer opportunities to celebrate and live the enduring story of love, grace, beauty, and resurrection that God can give us.
