Rev. Barb Sholis
Pastor for Senior Adult Ministries and Wind Crest
Rev. Barb Sholis serves our senior adults at St. Andrew. She joined the staff in January 2023 after ‘retiring’ from serving for 30 years in ministry, including as the senior minister at Parker UMC in Parker, Colorado. Under Barb's leadership, a number of new initiatives have been introduced including a summer Vacation Bible School for seniors and weekly coffee chats.
Barb is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and was a longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio, where she served in local churches, as a District Superintendent, and as the clergy assistant to the Bishop of West Ohio Conference. Married to her husband, Robert, (also retired clergy), they moved to Colorado in 2018 to be closer to family.
Chair Yoga with Becky Palmer
First Friday Monthly
Begins Friday, November 7 | 10–11 am
Back by popular demand from our VBS for Seniors, our Seniors ministry will offer chair yoga with certified yoga instructor, Becky Palmer. The cost is $5 per session at class to Becky. The class size limit is 20 participants. No need to register for the first class on November 7.
Prime Time
Second Friday Monthly | 11:30 am – 1 pm

Helping Hands
Mondays and Fridays | 6:30–8 am
Join our Helping Hands ministry and build community and friendships while you support the church through hands-on assistance with tasks like vacuuming, mowing, trimming shrubs, window cleaning, and more under the direction of the Facilities team. Teams meet Monday and Friday mornings and enjoy coffee, donuts, and fellowship after completing their tasks. Email facilities@gostandrew.com for more details or to join Helping Hands!
VBS for Seniors

Since the summer of 2024, St. Andrew has offered Vacation Bible School for senior adults. Feeling nostalgic about your own Vacation Bible School memories and songs? We offer a three-day, themed VBS with crafts, music, food, and spiritual growth. It's a wonderful chance to reconnect with that joyful VBS spirit. Watch for2026 dates coming soon!
Hit the Road Outings
Throughout the year, we offer special outings to local places of interest. We meet at the church where we offer group transportation using our St. Andrew buses. Places of interest have included:
- Leaf Peeping on Guanella Pass
- Local concerts
- Tour of the Governor's Mansion
- Denver Zoo
- National Western Stock Show
Wind Crest Offerings
Wind Crest Senior Living in Highlands Ranch is a village of over 1800 residents. St. Andrew brings an active United Methodist presence with a weekly Bible study along with special worship services throughout the year. Long-range plans include providing a weekday worship experience.
Our study group at Wind Crest has a growing class of attendees who study together every Thursday from 10–11:30 am in the Cultural Learning Room in Parry Landing.
