What if we removed every transaction from our faith, every promise of reward, every threat of consequence? An ancient Sufi story tells of an angel carrying a torch to burn down the mansions of heaven and a pail to put out the fires of hell so that we might finally see who truly loves God. Not out of fear. Not to earn mercy. Just love, for love’s sake. This series is an invitation to come home to a faith with no strings attached, where perfect love casts out fear, and God desires mercy, not sacrifice.
